Learning CPRT

Learning CPRT is a process that involves building knowledge, practicing using the teaching strategies and receiving feedback, and monitoring progress over time. We have free resources to help you learn, practice and integrate CPRT into your classroom procedures. If you are interested in scheduling an in-person CPRT training workshop or working directly with a CPRT coach, we offer those services for a cost.

Building Knowledge

Initial training will help you learn about the components of CPRT and specific strategies for how to use them with students. Check out the CPRT Learning Module to get started.

Practice Using CPRT

A next step is to practice using CPRT. You can get started with the Try It Out virtual case studies and tailor to individual student needs using the Individualization Tool. We also encourage you to practice with your own students. We have several resources to support your practice, including a Lesson Plan document.

Explore Individual Student Needs

Use the CPRT Individualization Tool to learn how to tailor your use of CPRT based on your students’ goals, characteristics, and setting. Then view sample case studies and associated lesson plans for a similar student and plan your own lesson with those tips for individualization.

Coaching and Feedback

Receiving feedback from an experienced user of CPRT or a professional coach is a critical step toward fluency of CPRT use. As you work toward integrating CPRT into your teaching practice, we encourage you to use additional tools and resources.

If you are interested in pursuing coaching with a CPRT coach, please message us.
